John Cromwell, BA, RADT

John brings his personal lived experience with substance abuse recovery to the treatment program at Serenity Knolls. After completing a residential treatment program at a facility similar to the Knolls, John transitioned to a sober living environment. John would go on to manage the same SLE and continue to work as a house manager for several years. During this time, John worked closely with every individual who came through the houses and assisted them in their early recovery. John also worked as a sober companion, providing immediate support and security for his clients.

John started working at the Knolls as an evening counselor before transitioning to the role of primary counselor. He was encouraged to pursue his master’s degree with the intention of eventually earning his therapist’s license. John completed his master’s degree program in 2023 and is currently working as a primary associate therapist at the Knolls. He believes that the foundation of therapy is curiosity, humility, empathy, and compassion. John hopes to offer these qualities as well as his extensive lived experience in recovery from addiction for the benefit of all of his clients.
