Kyla Green, AMFT
Therapist
Kyla Green is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) with a passion for fostering healing, building relationships, and empowering individuals on their journey to recovery. Her therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in relational connection, evidence-based practices, and addressing the unique needs of each client. Kyla has worked at Serenity Knolls for over 2 years and maintains a private practice in San Rafael, CA.
Kyla is also an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trainee, integrating this trauma-focused therapy to help clients process unresolved experiences and build resilience.
Before pursuing her career in mental health, Kyla spent 13 years in Executive Management in luxury retail. Drawn to a more meaningful path, she returned to her true passion and earned a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco.
Kyla’s clinical and community work began in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, where she helped to build a division of Because Justice Matters, a nonprofit serving women and families. This experience deepened her understanding of the intersection between trauma, substance use, and relational support, inspiring her commitment to meeting individuals where they are with empathy and care. She later worked with at-risk foster youth at St. Vincent’s School for Boys, providing therapeutic interventions to promote healing and equip youth with skills to thrive in healthy home environments.
Substance use has shaped Kyla’s professional and personal life. She has witnessed the transformative power of recovery and understands the vital role relationships and community play in rebuilding one’s life. This perspective informs her work as both a therapist and the Founder of Sober Marin Community, a nonprofit providing transitional resources to individuals in early sobriety.
Born and raised in Marin County, Kyla brings a deep understanding of the local community and the challenges individuals face in finding stability after treatment. Her work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves the chance to heal, connect, and build a life of purpose and fulfillment.
